Biography
Dr. Belen A. Tesfaye earned her medical degree from Jimma University Medical School with top honors. She then joined Howard University Hospital where she completed internal medicine residency as well as clinical gastroenterology and hepatology fellowship where she was elected to the National Medical Honor Society: Alpha Omega Alpha. During her fellowship, she received focused training in general and transplant hepatology at Johns Hopkins University Hospital. She was also selected for the Visiting Neurogastroenterology and Motility Fellow where she received additional training in motility and neurogastroenterology at Temple University hospital. Dr. Tesfaye is board certified in internal medicine and board certified in Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Neurogastroenterology and Motility and serves on the committee for the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
