Personal Interests

Dr. Pollack spends his free time with family and friends over meals, movies, and theater. He enjoys traveling during his vacations: Tuscany, Ambergris Cay, Arles, Milford Sound and Ravello. He tries hard to be a Redskins fan but frequently has trouble finding something to cheer for. During his alone time, he reads, gardens, does household repairs, and eats ice cream.

Biography

Dr. Alan Pollack is a board-certified specialist in Pulmonary Medicine as well as Internal Medicine. He did his internship, residency, and fellowship at Georgetown University Hospital after graduating from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. During his career, he has established and been the medical director of two pulmonary rehab programs as well as a long-term ventilator unit.

In addition to his managerial roles at Rockville Internal Medicine Group, he continues to enjoy clinical care and sees patients both as a primary care physician and as a pulmonary consultant. Because the practice has a full pulmonary function lab, digital radiology, bronchoscopy and thoracentesis capabilities, he is able to employ advanced diagnostic and therapeutic modalities in a timely way, greatly improving patient care and allowing patients to remain out of hospitals and emergency rooms.
